On this canal cruise you will sail through 7 impressive locks, including Vrangfoss, which is the largest lock system of the canal with its 5 lock chambers.
The trip includes river, lakes, and an idyllic approach to Kviteseid or Spjotsodd at the end of the cruise.

Straand Hotel also have their own veteran ship, M/S Fram, that sails on 2-hour sightseeing tour from the hotel pier.

Practical information during the canal cruise:
Parking:
Your car can be parked at the parking lot 200 meters from Ulefoss lock.
There is no need for parking permit.
While driving from Ulefoss center, the parking lot is reached about 200 meters before the lock.
It is marked with a parking sign (a large “P”) and the symbol for the Telemark Canal (a boat in a lock).
Meals on board:
There is a restaurant on board.
Todays 2-course lunch are included in this package.
You can also order food directly on the boat from their menu without prebooking.
It is not possible to book a table for the entire journey, and you can’t bring your own food on board.
Travel on Mondays:
On Mondays the boats turn in Lunde.
This means that M/S Victoria sails from Skien to Lunde and returns to Skien.
And M/S Henrik Ibsen sails from Dalen to Lunde and returns to Dalen.
If you wish to sail on Mondays, we ask you to contact us book this trip manually.

Please book your dinnertime when you check in.
Dinner will be served as either a 3-course dinner or a buffet, depending on the number of guests that day.
Facilities:
Straand Hotel has its own beach at the lake Nisser.
Here they have a waterpark and a beach bar during the summer.
The hotel also has its own indoor swimming pool.
M/S Fram, the hotels’ veteran ship, sails on Nisser and Vråvatn.
Tickets can be bought in the hotel reception.
