Wedding at the fairytale hotel

 

At Dalen Hotel, many beautiful weddings are organized throughout the season from the end of April to the beginning of October. With our idyllic location at the very end of the Telemark Canal, a very special atmosphere is created. The romantic fairy-tale wedding you wish for can be found here with us at Dalen.

Most brides and grooms want to put their personal touch on the big day and we are happy to help with the planning in advance and are of course available throughout your stay.

A description of a fairytale wedding with us might look like this:

Arrival the day before the wedding

Normally, the wedding guests will arrive at the hotel at different times. We recommend our great welcome buffet prepared with love as a pleasant entrance to the big event. Many brides and grooms choose this afternoon to take their wedding guests on a pleasant cultural-historical cruise with M/S Henrik Ibsen on the Telemark Canal. Here we will serve sparkling wine and snacks on board if desired.

The wedding day

For the bride and groom who like to stay in their own bridal suite, an elegant breakfast is served in the room, while the wedding guests enjoy the first meal of the day in the restaurant

Fantastic Eidsborg stave church is a popular church for weddings for many brides and grooms and the church is only 6 km away from the hotel. Here we can offer the opportunity to arrive at the church with our vintage car, a Jaguar MKII from 1959, which for many years has offered to the the bride and bridesmaids.

For non-religious weddings, our beautiful garden is a strong recommendation for many brides and grooms. Our lush and beautiful garden creates a particularly romantic and private setting for the event. Not least, you get fantastic settings for wedding photography, both outside and inside our historic surroundings. After the wedding, Champagne towers and canapés are served. The wedding cake is typically served after the wedding toast and before dinner.

The dinner will be served in the heart of the hotel, namely the historic restaurant hall. Here it is set up with white tablecloths, candelabra with candles and stemmed flowers. Our eminent kitchen will compose a fantastic four-course wedding menu, with accompanying hand-picked wines specially adapted to the taste combinations in the menu.

After dinner, avec is served in our majestic fireplace living room, while our pianist plays beautiful piano notes in front of the fireplace.

In the evening, we can serve a light night meal in the form of sausages from a local sausage maker if you want to add this for your celebration.

For smaller parties, the wedding is adapted so that other guests are not a nuisance for the event.

Departure

Breakfast is served in our restaurant before departure.

We recommend bridal couples and guests to take a refreshing bath with an accompanying sauna experience in Soria Moria Sauna before departure. A "spa for the soul" as a wonderful end to your stay.
