Holiday and leisure
Throughout the summer months it is holiday and leisure time which get top priority at Dalen and Dalen Hotel.

Consert in the garden is held this year too. 20.th June we will have artist setting a nice atmopshere in our garden. We will put on a BBQ in the garden with a buffet of condements and drinks. For more informatioon see www.viservedkanalen.no

The Telemark canal - and the canal boats are the most important and unique experience on your way to Dalen. You can start or end the trip at Dalen with the boat "Victoria" just like in the old days when the hotel opened in 1894. The trip to or from Skien along the Telemarkskanal is a small day trip with amacing locks and incredible nature. The mountains reaches 900 meters above sea level along the Bandak lake and the depth reaches down to 400 meter deep. Round trip with bicycle or canoe 
The canal package is similar here and you can bring the bicycle or canoe on board one way and cycle or paddle back to your starting point. Just ask for the best solution for you including the boat and accomodation at Dalen Hotel.

Suleskarvegen is one of the most spectacular roads between Dalen and the west coast /Rogaland. This road opens for summer traffic about mid May and keeps open til the end of the season at Dalen Hotel. The road is very popular for motor bikes and old veteran cars and the hotel is a natural stop for accomodation, food and beverage or a stretch in the park. We welcome many clubs during the season so ask us for a special offer. More information about the road www.suleskarvegen.no

Horse Riding can be arranged for smaller groups from the hotel. Options for trips are many wether it is local small ones or accorss the mountain to Hovden. Horse and carriage is available too in the closeeness of Dalen or even all the way along Bandak to Bandaksli.

Fishing is very popular in Tokkeåi only 100 meters from the hotel. Out on the small island Buøy or along the river itself there are many places to catch the Bandak trout. Evidence that it can get as big as 15,5 kg is to be found at the hotel reception. Fish cards can be bought at the hotel and we can also provide two small rowing boats.

Bø Sommarland is a water haven and fun park for the whole family and is just 1 hour away from Dalen Hotel. Tickets can be bought at the hotel. For more information www.sommarland.no

Golf can be played at Nordsjø, a beautiful course in the heart of Telemark. Just about an hour from Dalen and close to Bø. More information at www.norsjo-golfklubb.no

"Hiking Dalen - Lårdal" is a hiking route that opens in May and is an amazing but quite tough trip between Lårdal and Dalen in Telemark. The marjority of the trip is out on the edge of the mountains 800 meter above the Telemarkskanal. The whole trip is about 15 km and is for the experienced and well trained trecker. If you reach Lårdal in the afternoon you will be able to catch the canal boat back to Dalen either with the boat Victoria.
