In the October 2009 the owner of Dalen Hotel, Thor Morten Halvorsen, bought M/S Henrik Ibsen. The sale was of NOK 1, however, if the ship should be accepted to bring passangers again on the Telemark canal it had to be fully restored from top to bottom.
As of February 1st 2009 the bottom steel plates and engine has been mended at Hansen & Arntsen in Langesund. M/S Henrik Ibsen was moved to the boat builder Geir Røvik at Fjærholmen outside Tøndberg to get new decks, wheel house, toiletts and interiors as well as new electrical and safety equipment.

Routes 2011 M/S Henrik Ibsen will together with M/S Victoria sail daily on the famous Telemark Canal from May 18th to September 25th to and from Dalen and Skien.
